Job description Role: Bid Manager Description: The role involves leading bids from receipt, to submission, at both Selection Questionnaire (SQ) / Pre-qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and tender stage (including managing pre- construction services on 2 stage schemes). This includes planning and managing tender activities, organising and chairing risk workshops and review meetings together with ensuring governance procedures are complied with and all bids are both complete and submitted on time. The writing of both pass / fail and qualitative responses for SQ, PQQ and tenders is an integral part of the role. This will include liaison with other offices , to optimise submissions for all. Preparation of submission documents and interview presentations is an essential part of the role, with the need to participate in and, if required, lead interviews. Responsible to: Pre-construction Manager Direct reports: None Responsible for: Estimators, Planner, Design Manager, Pre-construction Administrator Locations: Office based, with visits to clients, consultants, supply chain and sites as required Qualifications: To degree level, in construction or a related discipline e.g. architecture Essential skills:  Strong team player  Leadership and Organisational skills  Strong written and verbal communicator  Decision making and accountability  Risk management: able to identify risk and opportunity (beyond purely safety / CDM  Ability to work to strict timescales  Ability to co-ordinate diverse teams (within and external to the organisation)  Competent in the use of Office 365 software  Experience of non-residential construction  Commercial awareness Preferred skills:  Contractual awareness (JCT and NEC forms)  Social value awareness  Understanding of measurement  Understanding of estimating processes  Understanding of construction programming and planning Experience:  Single and 2 stage procurement  Frameworks  Design & Build procurement  Traditional procurement  Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Municipal construction Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year Benefits: * Company car * Company pension Schedule: * Monday to Friday Experience: * Bid Manager Construction: 4 years (required) Work Location: In person Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year Benefits: * Company car * Company pension Schedule: * Monday to Friday Experience: * Bid Manager: 3 years (required) Work Location: In person
