Know the AKI Experience

Before your interview, take some time to research AKI and its unique approach to Japanese cuisine. Familiarise yourself with their menu and the overall vibe of the restaurant. This will not only show your enthusiasm but also help you answer questions about how you can contribute to delivering the AKI experience.

Show Off Your People Skills

As a Host, you'll be the first point of contact for guests, so it's crucial to demonstrate your exceptional communication skills. Practice friendly greetings and responses to common guest inquiries. Think about past experiences where you've successfully managed customer interactions and be ready to share those stories.

Organisational Skills Matter

Since the role involves managing reservations and guest flow, highlight your organisational abilities during the interview. Prepare examples of how you've efficiently handled busy situations in previous roles. You might even want to suggest a strategy for managing waitlists or seating arrangements to showcase your proactive thinking.

Stay Calm Under Pressure

The hospitality environment can get hectic, especially during peak hours. Be prepared to discuss how you maintain composure in fast-paced situations. Share specific instances where you've successfully navigated challenges while keeping a positive attitude, as this will reassure them of your ability to thrive in their vibrant setting.
