Our renowned & successful client is providing Healthtech services. By going through a steady and intensive growth stage, our client is now scaling up their teams, and looking for a VP of Engineering for their mobile and web solutions.
About the role:
- Lead the team to deliver high-quality, scalable products on time with your proven methodologies and tools.
- Manage in-house mobile, front-end, back-end developers and QA engineers along with off-shore design, devops and contractors.
- Dive into technical challenges and solve complex problems day-to-day.
- Drive the design of our software architecture.
- Collaborate with the product team on delivering the product vision with speed, agility and quality.
- Define and implement the engineering strategy, lead on all research and development, and ensure these are communicated with the executive team, and wider company.
- Recruiting for top talent in software development, QA, project management.
- Be responsible for the delivery of the sprint, including task allocation, unblocking technical obstacles, supporting technical challenges.
- Continuous improvement on engineering practices.
Requirements:
- Previous Start-up experience (able to deal with ups/downs, stress, ambiguity, pace of delivery and scope changes).
- Strong understanding of both agile and waterfall methodologies for product / project management.
- Hands-on role - need to be able to develop and build and scale an engineering team (>15 people).
- Strong understanding of system designs between mobile apps and backend systems.
- Experience with scaling systems to accommodate millions of users.
- Discipline to be able to plan, organise and anticipate keeping key deliverables on track, while balancing technical debts.
- Experience managing and developing hybrid in-office/remote engineering teams.
- Experience in setting quantifiable OKR and measuring team performance.
- You should ideally have worked with the following technologies: Node.JS, React.JS, MongoDB, AWS, Swift (iOS), Kotlin / Java for Android.
