As a Playout Director, you’ll be part of a fast-paced, 24/7 environment where precision, teamwork, and passion come together to deliver world-class live sports to millions of fans across the globe. From Serie A and the Premier League to MotoGP, IPL, and PFL, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting live events in global sport. We’re a dynamic, evolving team where every day brings new challenges and rewards — and if you thrive under pressure and love live broadcasting, DAZN is the perfect place to make your mark.

As a Playout Director, you’ll take ownership of transmitting live and server-based sports content across DAZN’s linear channels and OTT platforms. You’ll manage live feeds, monitor signal quality, and ensure seamless delivery of broadcast schedules to audiences in Spain, Italy, France, the UK, and beyond. Working within a state‑of‑the‑art facility in Leeds, you’ll collaborate closely with production, scheduling, and technical operations teams to keep our live output running flawlessly. This role demands sharp technical knowledge, composure in live environments, and an ability to adapt quickly to last‑minute changes — whether it’s a goal in extra time or a rain delay at a Grand Prix. You’ll be part of a close‑knit broadcast operations team that makes sure the world never misses a moment of the action.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Loading, preparing, and transmitting daily playout schedules.
  • Executing scheduled live events to ensure accurate broadcast delivery.
  • Managing live event changes, overruns, and underruns, and generating EPG reports.
  • Using standby material and managing schedule contingencies.
  • Monitoring and quality‑controlling all incoming and outgoing broadcast signals.
  • Ensuring all media assets are available and liaising with graphics and production teams for missing or incorrect content.
  • Recording and editing content for same‑day turnaround.
  • Anticipating and resolving faults quickly to minimise on‑air disruption.
  • Actioning disaster recovery procedures when required.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in live transmission or broadcast operations, ideally within sports.
  • Proficiency with broadcast automation systems (e.g., "Morpheus ICE UX").
  • Strong understanding of file‑based workflows, encoding and streaming technologies.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with clear communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a live, high‑pressure environment.
  • Understanding of broadcast compliance and technical standards.
  • Calm, solutions‑driven mindset with flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and events.
  • Knowledge of IP protocols and IP content delivery workflows.
  • Spanish or Italian language skills are beneficial but not essential.

Benefits:

  • Access to DAZN.
  • 25 days’ annual leave (increasing by 3 days after 3 years).
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Life assurance.
  • Pension contributions up to 5%.
  • Family‑friendly community including enhanced parental leave.
  • Electric vehicle benefit option.
  • Learning and development resources.
  • Opportunity for flexible working.
  • Access to our internal speaker series and events.
