We are seeking patient, reliable, and skilled Carers/Support Workers to support a 16-year-old young person with Autism Spectrum Disorder, severe learning disabilities, sensory processing difficulties and limited verbal communication. This role involves providing calm, structured, and person-centred support within his home and local community.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 2:1 support in line with a structured and predictable routine
Use clear, calm communication and allow extended processing time
Support daily living tasks including personal care, dressing, and meal assistance
Promote emotional regulation using low‐arousal approaches and sensory‐based strategies
Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and use approved physical intervention techniques when required for safety
Maintain accurate records and adhere to all care plans
Requirements
PMVA trained.
Experience supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and behaviours of concern
Training in Autism, LD, PBS, physical intervention, epilepsy, and communication strategies (or willingness to complete training)
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in heightened situations
Strong understanding of sensory needs and anxiety‐reduction techniques
Reliable, compassionate, and able to work consistently within a team
