Daytime Healthcare are assisting a leading SEN School who are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the team in Cranleigh, Surrey.

In this role, you will be supporting around 18 students age 5-19, with severe social communication difficulties and complex learning disabilities, many with autism. With your compassion and guidance, you will help them achieve the greatest possible level of independence and communication skills relative to their complex needs and help prepare them for life beyond school or college.

  • Devise, develop and implement therapy for individuals and small groups of students
  • Assess students on admission and for annual reviews
  • Supervise the work of Therapy Assistants
  • Be given regular supervision, mentoring and 1:1 support

Monday to Thursday: 3 days per week 08:15-17:00 + 1 day per week 08:15-19.30. This is a term time only role and we are open to flexibility, including part time hours.

A Speech & Language Therapy qualification approved by the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and Membership of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists is required. Health & Care Professions Council registration is also necessary.

Empathy with the needs of all students and an enthusiastic, positive, conscientious, and flexible approach is essential.

In practice, full time therapist hours are compressed into term time plus 5 in-service training days working each academic year (39 weeks). The salary is also dependent on whether you are newly qualified, or an independent practitioner. Own transport is desirable due to the semi-rural location of the school.
