Job Description:

Daytime Healthcare are assisting a national supported live-in organisation, who are looking for an Acting Assistant Service Manager to join their team in Tunbridge Wells. This service supports people who have Learning Disabilities, communication difficulties and who display behaviours of concern.

Full Driving license required

Duties include:

  • To work in partnership with the Service Manager and Registered Manager and other key stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality services for service users.
  • To support the Service Manager, undertake the recruitment, development and management of staff to provide them with the skills, experience and behaviours necessary to provide a safe, high-quality service to people supported.
  • To support the Service Manager and participate in the monitoring/management of service budgets.
  • To assist the Service Manager in delivery of the service in order to meet the needs and aspirations of people supported.

Hours:

  • This is a 12 month fixed term contract, and a full time position at 39 hours per week.
  • Completing Early and late shifts

Required Experience

  • Experience in a social care leadership role (Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Team Leader, etc.)
  • Supporting people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs
  • Managing budgets, finances, and audits
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory standards
  • Staff supervision, training, and rota management
  • Medication handling and safety compliance

Desirable Experience

  • Acting as Service Manager in their absence
  • Participating in management cover rota which could include day and night shifts.
  • Recruiting, developing, and motivating staff
  • Experience of working with people with behaviours that challenge (for PBS services) and with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (for PMLD services).
  • Promoting continuous improvement and positive team culture
  • Hands-on support for service users
  • Taking responsibility for personal and team professional development
