Must be a Christian committed to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. You will be the primary architect of our daily conversation with millions of followers, with a core mission to deepen relationships and foster authentic community. This role goes beyond posting. It's about active listening, real-time interaction, and transforming passive viewers into active participants in our mission. You will own and elevate our Instagram Stories as a flagship engagement channel, making it a vibrant, interactive hub for prayer, conversation, and connection.
If you are passionate about building digital communities, understand the heartbeat of social media interaction, and can turn every comment, poll, and story into a meaningful touchpoint for ministry, this role is your calling.
Key Responsibilities:- Community Strategy & Nurturing: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media engagement strategy focused on building relationships, increasing interaction rates, and fostering a supportive online community aligned with our faith-based mission.
- Interactive Channel Leadership: Serve as the lead expert and primary voice for our Instagram Stories, transforming it into a distinct, daily destination for exclusive content, real-time updates, and two-way conversation with our audience.
- Real-Time Engagement & Conversation: Proactively monitor and engage with comments, direct messages, and story replies across platforms (with a focus on Instagram). Respond with empathy, answer questions, and facilitate positive discussions.
- Interactive Content Creation: Design and publish daily, compelling Instagram Stories that utilise the full suite of interactive tools (polls, Q&As, quizzes, countdowns, "Add Yours" prompts) to drive participation and gather community insights.
- Engagement Analytics & Insights: Track, analyse, and report on key engagement metrics (reply rates, poll participation, shares, saves) to understand community sentiment and refine our approach to connection.
- Crisis & Community Management: Uphold our community guidelines with grace, defuse potential conflicts, and escalate sensitive issues appropriately, ensuring our digital spaces remain safe and uplifting.
- Collaborative Campaign Support: Work hand-in-hand with the content and marketing teams to design engagement tactics that support live broadcasts, events, teaching series, and fundraising initiatives.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a social media role with a proven track record of growing engagement metrics and building online community. Experience in ministry, nonprofit, or community-focused brands is highly preferred.
- Technical & Platform Expertise: Deep, native understanding of Instagram and its features, with mastery of Instagram Stories as an engagement tool. Proficiency with social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite) for listening and engagement. Skills in creating quick, engaging visual content using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
- Skills & Abilities: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – you write as you speak, with warmth, clarity, and a heart for service. A data-informed approach to community building, balancing analytics with human intuition. Ability to work nimbly, creating and responding to content in real-time throughout the day. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to brand voice and spiritual tone.
- Soft Skills: A genuine heart for ministry and alignment with Daystar’s mission. You are an empathetic listener, a proactive problem-solver, and a collaborative team player who thrives on human connection.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with social listening tools and sentiment analysis. Experience creating basic, engaging video content for stories (using CapCut, InShot, etc.). Knowledge of the broader social media landscape (Facebook, YouTube Community Tab, TikTok). Familiarity with Salesforce Social Studio or similar CRM-integrated social tools.
- Competitive Compensation & Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; 403(b) with company match.
- Meaningful Ministry: Your work directly nurtures the spiritual journey of our global community.
- Central Role: Be the vital link between Daystar and its audience, with a direct impact on our digital culture.
- Supportive Environment: Join a mission-driven team that values innovation, prayer, and excellence.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to work on a computer and mobile device for extended periods for monitoring and engagement. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to cover live events and community activity. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision. Must be able to walk and sit for a period of time. Must be able to work extended hours as assigned.
To Apply: Please submit your resume, a cover letter explaining your philosophy on digital community building, and links to 1-2 social media accounts (or a portfolio) you have managed that demonstrate your ability to drive authentic engagement.
