About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the operational health, scalability, and security of our Azure-based SaaS infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring our platform remains robust, compliant, and cost-effective as we continue to scale. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and support teams to drive our high standards of operational excellence and support our mission to deliver high-quality, reliable services to our customers. What you’ll doInfrastructure Management
- Own the operational performance of our Azure environments (Dev, QA, Stage, Prod).
- Ensure high availability, redundancy, and performance using Azure-native tools (e.g., Web Application Gateway, Defender for Cloud).
- Manage integration runtimes and linked services.
Operational Excellence
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Drive automation across deployment pipelines and operational workflows.
- Maintain and evolve infrastructure documentation and runbooks.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce security best practices including MFA, time-based access controls, and role-based access.
- Ensure compliance with ISO27001, SOC 2, and other relevant standards.
- Manage responses to vendor security questionnaires and client-facing security documentation.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to resolve incidents and improve platform reliability.
- Support team scaling and rebalancing initiatives, especially around ownership of platform components.
Incident Response & Reliability
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for outages or performance issues.
- Maintain SLA commitments and communicate service availability metrics.
Cost Optimisation & Vendor Management
- Monitor and optimise Azure spend across environments.
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers and ensure contract compliance.
Line Management
- Support the career development of the current team running and updating our service
- On-Call support rota management

- Proven experience managing SaaS infrastructure at scale.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience in team leadership or cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services: App Services, Data Factory, DevOps, Synapse, Defender, etc.
- Experience with using Pulumi for deployment
- Salary £80,000-£100,000, dependent on experience
- At least £1,000 per year to spend on professional and personal development
- 33 days\' holiday per year (including bank holidays), increasing by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know.
We have a strong preference for someone in/around Edinburgh, though we’re open to the possibility of this being a remote role (as long as you\'re in the UK). We\'re making the most of hybrid working, so you won\'t need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to!).
