An Accounts Clerk who will form part of our Accounts team undertaking a variety of functions including Credit Control, customer administration and reconciliations. Reporting to the Divisional Accountant, this full-time, permanent role will incorporate the set up and life‑time management of our client’s credit accounts and invoicing requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing Sales Ledger accounts for a large client base
  • Daily invoicing
  • Direct Debit set up and collection
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Contract amendments
  • System administration, ensuring records are up to date and accurate
  • Liaising with clients, chasing outstanding debt and resolving queries
  • Other administrative duties associated with a busy Accounts department

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of, or a desire to learn, Credit Control, Banking and Nominal Ledger reconciliations
  • Ability to work methodically and accurately
  • Ability to work to strict weekly/monthly deadlines
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to adapt workload, using initiative to manage several tasks at once
  • Proficient Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  • Motivated to achieve high levels of customer service
  • Strong communicator with a confident telephone manner and excellent written skills
  • Interest in learning and using multiple software systems
  • Flexible, helpful, approachable, adaptable and reliable – this role will liaise with all other teams within Day's Fleet
  • Work well within a small team whilst also being self‑motivated
