London College of Fashion is seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator: Garment & Textiles to lead a dynamic technical team in our workshops. The role involves managing specialist areas within Garment and Textiles Technology, providing hands‑on leadership, and ensuring the smooth delivery of all technical services across the School of Design and Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage specialist areas within Garment and Textiles Technology and provide leadership to technical teams.
  • Oversee workshops, technical facilities and the curriculum delivery in collaboration with the Technical Manager and Head of Technical Resources.
  • Schedule technicians, support wellbeing, manage recruitment, create new roles, approve timesheets, and keep accurate records.
  • Ensure quality of service aligns with UAL professional standards, including maintenance, safety checks, security testing of equipment, machinery and tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience in Garment and Textiles with specialist knowledge in Garment Technology or Textiles Technology.
  • Relevant industry experience in design and manufacturing processes related to the subject area.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of motivating and guiding teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and service users.
  • Digital proficiency, experience using digital platforms for teaching, collaboration and learning enhancement.
