This is an exciting opportunity to join the Photography Programme within the Media School at London College of Communication, working on our new BA Photography and Creative Industries course. With knowledge, skills and experience of the contemporary photography and creative industries you will be part of a team developing and delivering this innovative course.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students how to use studio and location lighting, analogue and digital cameras, and develop contemporary post‑production skills.
  • Develop students’ creative, technical, professional and entrepreneurial skills, helping them define their creative voice, build relationships with brands and industry partners, and understand how their image‑making can be developed towards building a career in the creative sector.
  • Assist students in producing works across editorials, spec ads, campaigns, branded content and personal work, while helping them develop their creative vision, portfolios and brand.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in contemporary Photography or related creative industries, with a portfolio that demonstrates intersection of photography and moving image with curation, advertising or creative direction.
  • Expertise in studio and location lighting, digital and analogue cameras, and contemporary post‑production skills.
  • Documented experience on branded projects, able to show contributions throughout creative collaboration from ideation to licensing.
  • Experience mentoring students, graduates or photographers in career development, building creative teams, negotiating professional fee structures, and managing online presence.
  • A wide ranging and relevant cultural and contextual knowledge applicable to contemporary commercial and creative practices.
  • Innovative educator with commitment to developing pedagogy as a creative practice and promoting diversity and inclusivity in teaching and assessment.
  • Experience of higher‑education teaching combined with effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
