About the Role

London College of Communication (LCC) – part of the University of the Arts London (UAL) – is looking for a Placemaking and Community Engagement Partnerships Manager to lead the development and delivery of place‑based ambitions for the regeneration of Elephant & Castle, including the new LCC building opening in September 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically lead and operationally deliver place‑based initiatives that create meaningful societal impact and enhance the College’s reputation for innovation.
  • Collaborate with RKE colleagues, academic staff across Design, Media & Screen Schools, and local and wider South London communities.
  • Build relationships with community groups, local authorities and national policy stakeholders to support projects around digital skills, employability, public health, climate and environmental issues.
  • Secure major funding and develop strategic partnerships that shape consultancy, enterprise and community‑focused initiatives.
  • Advocate a collaborative and inclusive approach to place‑based work, ensuring community voices shape projects.

Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker, influencer and relationship builder with a strong track record of successful delivery.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Elephant & Castle area and its communities.
  • Understanding of national government policies and local authority priorities related to digital skills, employability, public health and climate & environmental issues.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven success in securing large-scale funding and establishing strategic partnerships.
