Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and pastoral support to PhD students and the wider research community.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for a diverse cohort of research students.
  • Handle student onboarding, including response to enquiries, shortlisting and interviewing new candidates.
  • Develop, deliver and continuously update the CCW research student curriculum.
  • Conduct regular meetings with PhD student representatives.
  • Lead or support the Graduate Research into Teaching programme and the annual PGR student exhibition.
  • Coordinate other research-related events at CCW.
  • Maintain an inclusive PGR community and positive research culture.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent research qualification.
  • Completion of the ‘Supervising Research Degrees’ unit at UAL (or equivalent).
  • Experience supervising at least one PhD student to completion as a Director of Studies.
  • Capability to develop and deliver an inclusive PGR training offer.
  • Strong project-management and organisational skills.

Weekly working pattern: 2 days on site, 1 day working from home.
