Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. You will contribute to the quality of learning and support students to complete their studies successfully. You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director and Course Leader.

We are seeking a talented Concept Artist to assist in teaching several 2D concept units as part of the BA Games Art Program. You will primarily teach foundational concept art practices, pipelines, theory and software to 1st year student groups. There is also an opportunity to teach 2nd year concept students or lead 3rd year 2D Final Major Project groups in key portfolio projects.

We seek an experienced artist with a range of concept art expertise and studio experience delivering tangible 2D outcomes across multiple styles. The candidate should be able to teach current industry workflows for concept art (e.g., 3D-to-2D workflows, photo bashing, speed painting, iteration), alongside traditional arts theory and creative practice, and be fluent in a range of 2D and 3D software packages.

As the sole 1st year tutor for concept arts, you will set the standard and lay the foundations for students pursuing concept arts on the course. We aim to inspire and motivate students to succeed in 2D arts and to grow beyond their current skills.

Contract Details

This contract is directly linked to a paternity absence in the team, with contracted hours running between September and March. More hours may be offered based on performance and course needs at a later stage.
