The Opportunity

The School of Media and Communication at London College of Fashion is looking for a six‑month fixed‑term (with a possible extension of six months) Creative Director to implement and advance the school’s showcasing strategy. The role involves initiating and project‑managing external events and exhibitions, extending the school’s place‑making and social engagement agendas, developing priority partnerships and maximising engagement and impact from showcasing activities. The post holder will work closely with the LCF Cultural Programme team to embed the school’s work into LCF’s public programme, collaborating across showcasing spaces, the world‑class gallery and digital platforms to showcase student, staff and alumni work, research and graduate degree shows.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the School of Media and Communication showcasing strategy.
  • Initiate and project‑manage external events and exhibitions.
  • Extend the school’s place‑making and social engagement agendas.
  • Develop priority partnerships to enhance showcasing activities.
  • Maximise engagement and impact from showcasing activities across physical and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with LCF’s cultural programme team to integrate the school’s work into public programming.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Recognised authority in your field or specialism with excellent and proactive communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the changing face of the fashion media and communication industry.
  • Strong fashion and/or creative vision relevant to the School of Media and Communication.
  • Ability to conceptualise, plan and produce complex creative showcasing outcomes.
  • Experience in project management, production planning, budgeting and workflow for digital platforms.
  • Desirable: experience in the higher education sector; also acceptable from curatorial, editorial, creative strategy, development and programming roles in galleries, museums, commercial or creative brands.
