Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant at Whitechapel Pharmacy, London. Our amazing team in Whitechapel is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Pharmacy Assistant to join our busy community pharmacy team. We are seeking someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent customer service and patient care. Whether you already have pharmacy experience or come from a strong customer service background, we would love to hear from you.
Working Hours
- Tuesday to Friday: 9:00am – 6:30pm (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
- Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
- Total contracted hours: 40 hours per week
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the pharmacy team and ensuring patients receive a professional, efficient and friendly service. Key responsibilities include:
- Serving patients and customers at the pharmacy counter
- Assisting with the dispensing process
- Handling prescription collections and patient queries
- Answering telephone enquiries professionally
- Supporting NHS and private pharmacy services
- Managing stock, ordering and deliveries
- Using pharmacy computer systems and NHS platforms
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional working environment
- Ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Working closely with pharmacists and colleagues to provide excellent patient care
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Be organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Be confident using computers and learning new systems
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team

Essential
- Previous customer service experience
- Good IT and keyboard skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently
Desirable
- Previous pharmacy experience
- Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification
- Experience using pharmacy systems such as ProScript, Titan, RxWeb or Pharmacy Manager
- Knowledge of NHS services such as Pharmacy First, NMS and Blood Pressure Checks
