We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (IP) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the pharmacy, while delivering high-quality clinical care to patients. The role is full-time (42.5 hours per week) onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Prescribe medications in line with scope of practice, including under shared care agreements, where applicable
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care
  • Maintain accurate patient and clinical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee and support inventory management and ordering of pharmaceutical supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient and clinical queries
  • Support governance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy
Qualifications
  • MPharm / Bachelor of Pharmacy degree
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacist in the UK
  • Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification – essential
  • Strong understanding of UK pharmaceutical regulations and best practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while providing leadership when required
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to audit data for accuracy and identify inconsistencies
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to develop alternative plans to ensure service continuity
  • Proven proficiency in prescription checking
  • Intermediate proficiency with computer-based systems (e.g. pharmacy systems, spreadsheets, email, databases)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
