About the Role

As a Depot Operative at Day Group Ltd, you will be a key part of a fast-paced, safety-driven team, responsible for the smooth and efficient running of our Salfords production site. Working within a close-knit group, you will ensure materials are handled, processed, and moved safely and effectively, contributing to the delivery of high-quality service across the business. We are looking for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, values teamwork, and understands the importance of keeping the site safe, clean, and productive.

Package

  • Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows.
  • You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses.
  • Annual leave of 25 days per year, plus 8 Bank Holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and run the Equestrian plant in line with production schedules and safety standards.
  • Safely move and manage large quantities of aggregates within bays and across the depot using heavy machinery.
  • Provide support to other Depot Operatives as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly site, taking shared responsibility for health, safety, and housekeeping.

Person Specification

  • Positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • A flexible and responsible approach to work, with a keen eye for safety and detail.
  • Experience of driving Telescopic Handlers or Forklift Trucks is advantageous (training will be provided for the right candidate).

Working hours/times

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0700-1700, including 1 hour unpaid break.
