About the Role

As an HGV Driver for Day Group Ltd, you will be an essential part of our logistics and delivery operation, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials across our sites and to our customers. Operating at the forefront of our service, you will play a key role in upholding our reputation for reliability, professionalism, and safety.

This role is suited to an experienced and confident driver who takes pride in representing the company on the road and at customer sites, while working as part of a wider team that supports the growth and efficiency of the business.

Package

Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows. You may be entitled to discretionary annual and Christmas bonuses. Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 bank holidays. Pro‑rated package of FTE depending on contracted hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete daily vehicle checks and correct defect reporting to keep trucks in excellent condition and compliant with road safety regulations.
  • Ensure safe and timely deliveries to our customers.
  • Be a good ambassador for the company, both on the road and on site.
  • Travel extensively to multiple company locations with a company van provided.

Person Specification

  • Hold a C+E licence.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years HGV driving experience, ideally including artic tipping.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Tachograph rules and regulations.
  • Confidence to operate as a knowledgeable member of staff, mentoring new drivers.
  • Reliable, able to prioritise workload.
  • Have a methodical approach.
  • Maintain a professional, positive and flexible attitude at all times.
  • Use a tablet to complete daily walk‑round submissions and other associated software for deliveries.
