About the Role
As an HGV Driver at Day Group Ltd, you will be an essential part of our logistics and delivery operation, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials across our sites and to our customers. You will play a key role in upholding our reputation for reliability, professionalism, and safety. This role is suited to an experienced and confident driver who takes pride in representing the company on the road and at customer sites, while working as part of a wider team that supports the growth and efficiency of the business.
Package
- Annual salary plus a 9% non‑contributory pension with Scottish Widows.
- You may be entitled to discretionary annual and Christmas bonuses.
- Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects to ensure trucks are in excellent condition and compliant with road safety regulations.
- Apply a good understanding of tachograph rules and regulations.
- Ensure safe and timely deliveries to our customers.
- Act as an ambassador for the company, both on the road and on site.
Person Specification
- Hold a C + E licence.
- Have a minimum of 2 years HGV driving experience, ideally including artic tipping.
- Be confident as a knowledgeable staff member and able to mentor new drivers.
- Possess a positive, can‑do attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.
- Communicate clearly and work as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Approach work flexibly and responsibly, with a keen eye for safety and detail.
Working Hours / Times
10 hours per day Monday–Friday, between 06:00 and 18:00 with a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break.
