As an HGV Driver at Day Group Ltd, you will be an essential part of our logistics and delivery operation, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials across our sites and to our customers. Operating at the forefront of our service, you will play a key role in upholding our reputation for reliability, professionalism, and safety.
This role is suited to an experienced and confident driver who takes pride in representing the company on the road and at customer sites, while working as part of a wider team that supports the growth and efficiency of the business.
Package
Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows. You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses. Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 Bank Holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- The completion of daily vehicle checks and correct defect reporting, to ensure the trucks remain in excellent condition, and compliant with road safety
- Good understanding and knowledge of Tachograph rules and regulations
- Ensuring safe and timely deliveries to our customers
- Be a good ambassador for the company, both on the road and on site
Person Specification
- Hold C Licence
- Must have minimum 2 years HGV driving experience, ideally including artic tipping
- Confidence to operate as a knowledgeable member of staff, mentoring new drivers into the role
- Positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
- Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team in a busy environment
- A flexible and responsible approach to work, with a keen eye for safety and detail
Working hours/times
10 hours per day Monday – Friday, between the hours of 06:00-18:00 with a 1-hour break for lunch (unpaid), and 07:00-12:00 on alternate Saturdays, with a 30 minute break (unpaid).
