As a Depot Operative at Day Group Ltd, you will be a key part of a fast-paced, safety-driven team, responsible for the smooth and efficient running of our Avonmouth production site. Working within a close-knit group, you will ensure materials are handled, processed, and moved safely and effectively, contributing to the delivery of high-quality service across the business.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, values teamwork, and understands the importance of keeping the site safe, clean, and productive.
Package
- Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows.
- You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses.
- Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 Bank Holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the bagging plant in line with production schedules and safety standards.
- Safely move and manage large quantities of aggregates within bays and across the depot using heavy machinery.
- Provide support to other Depot Operatives as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly site, taking shared responsibility for health, safety, and housekeeping.
Person Specification
- Positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team in a busy environment.
- A flexible and responsible approach to work, with a keen eye for safety and detail.
- Experience of driving Telescopic Handlers or Forklift Trucks is advantageous (training can be provided for the right candidate).
Working hours/times
0 hour contract, working times will be 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 06:00-16:00, plus 5 hours unpaid for breaks.
