We are seeking an experienced and proactive Area Sales Representative to join our merchant sales team working across the South West region. This role offers the chance to work with one of the largest independent aggregate companies in the South, driving growth through strong relationship management, targeted new business development, and the promotion of our products and services. If you thrive in a field‑based sales environment and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver exceptional customer service and commercial results, we would love to hear from you.
Package
- Annual salary plus the 9% non‑contributory pension with Scottish Widows.
- You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses.
- Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 Bank Holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing sales accounts within the region.
- Working with the internal Sales team based at local internal sales office.
- Retaining and growing existing business.
- Gaining new business through pro‑active marketing.
- Cross promotions and maintaining supply.
- Promoting the Day Group and its activities.
- Maximising levels of profit and margin.
- Be customer focused on Bagged Sales Woodsford, Cerney and Bristol Bagging Plants.
- Promoting loose sales to Merchant in the South West.
- Providing a high level of service to customers at all times.
Person Specification
- Experience in the field sales environment.
- Good IT skills.
- Must have a pro‑active and positive attitude.
- Attention to detail with good communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to use initiative in solving problems.
Working Hours/Times
- 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:30, including one hour unpaid for lunch.
