RF Engineers – Defence – Edinburgh – 6 months+ £300 – £350 per day outside IR35
A leading Defence organisation are looking for 2x RF Test Engineers to lead a series of applied research work-packages and feasibility studies, document and report on their findings, and provide RF architectural recommendations to support the creation of a digital antenna concept for our next generation surveillance radar system.
Roles:
- 1x Focused on Antenna development
- 1x Focused on Receiver development
Requirements:
- RF/microwave experience (full lifecycle) at the Principal (or high Senior) level
- AR experience / expertise (technical study investigation)
- Concept development (defining architectures / partitioning in their domain)
- Lab prototyping to support rapid development
- Hardware requirement specification definition
- Schematic capture
- Layout support to ECAD (including prototyping layouts)
- Documentation to support formal design
- Design verification testing
- Specific radar development experience
- Antenna development (engineer #1)
- Receiver development (engineer #2)
- Technical supervision of junior engineer
The system the client is developing will be broadly split into a Receiver Function / SRU and an Antenna Function / SRU. Each of the two Principal engineers will be Function / SRU lead for one of these functions, and (longer term) will need to provide technical supervision to the junior engineers working on secondary assemblies in their function.
SC Clearance will be required for the successful applicants to start in these positions. Preference will be given to those that already hold valid clearance.
