We are currently seeking a talented Data Scientist to work for one of our NHS clients. This role offers the opportunity to apply your advanced analytical skills to complex datasets, contributing to impactful decision-making and helping to drive improvements.
This is a Band 7 (+ London Weighting) opportunity, which offers hybrid working (1 day per week on site).
Summary
You will assist in the development of statistical and analytical best practices, applying them to complex datasets to deliver actionable insights. You will work on predictive and statistical models, contribute to the development of machine learning methodologies, and assist with model testing and development.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake exploratory data analysis, develop and contribute to predictive models, and apply advanced statistical methods to solve complex problems.
- Present complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that insights are actionable and aligned with business goals.
- Develop visualisations and reports to communicate data insights clearly and compellingly.
- Stay up to date with new programming tools and analytical methods, contributing to research and the development of new methodologies for highly complex prediction models.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to communicate complex findings and develop new metrics to drive performance and quality improvements.
Essential Experience Required
- Extensive experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modelling, ideally within the NHS or a similar environment.
- Advanced level Python skills, with experience in machine learning applications.
- Knowledge of software principles such as APIs, CI/CD, DevOps, and MLOps.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including proven ability to explain complex analytical methods to non-analytical stakeholders.
- Experience working with at least one cloud platform (preferably Azure).
- Practical experience with NLP techniques and LLMs.
- In-depth specialist knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
