This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Jewellery (Watch & Silver) Valuer to join a technology-led and innovative business. Working from our Hampstead valuations office in London, you will be reporting directly to the Joint Heads of Jewellery, Watches & Silver.
Dawsons are leading international Valuers & Auctioneers, established in 2016. We provide professional, discrete current market valuation and sales advice for Fine Jewellery, Watches, Fine & Contemporary Art, Antiques, and family heirlooms, based from our auction logistics centre in Berkshire, our valuations office in London, and Nationwide.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting with the day to day running of the Hampstead valuations office
- Negotiating with customers in person and online, consigning jewellery, watches and silver for sale
- Carrying out accurate jewellery, watch and silver valuations, both for auction, probate and insurance purposes as required
- Attending offsite valuation appointments when needed, i.e. house visits in and around London
- Careful handling of items and entering stock details into our auction operating systems
- Working closely with our friendly team of expert Jewellery Valuers & Cataloguers
- Travel to our Auction Hub in Berkshire several days a month, including supporting with sale days
Your experience and required skills:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and exemplary levels of customer service
- Flexibility and the ability to be a team player
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Auction experience preferable but not essential
- FGA/DGA/GIA or equivalent professional qualifications or five plus years of experience within the jewellery industry
- A high level of IT competence would be preferable
- Specialist knowledge of jewellery, watches and or silver
