As a Workshop Engineer, you will play a vital site-based role maintaining and preparing specialist fleet vehicles at our Brighouse site. This position supports our Environmental Municipal Civil operation, keeping essential vehicles safe, compliant, and ready for hire across the UK.

  • Maintain, inspect, diagnose and repair municipal, plant, industrial and specialist vehicles
  • Prepare vehicles and equipment for MOT testing and statutory inspections
  • Work across mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical systems with training support provided
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers
  • Support general fleet readiness, stock checks and workshop organisation

You are a practical problem solver with hands-on mechanical experience who enjoys seeing the direct impact of your work. Whether your background is municipal, HGV, plant, forklifts or another transferable sector, we are keen to hear from you.

  • Level 2 mechanical or engineering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with mechanical systems, ideally including hydraulics or pneumatics
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
