Are you a skilled mechanic or engineer looking for a role that offers variety, independence, and career progression? We’re hiring Field Service Engineers and Mobile Mechanics to service and maintain municipal, plant, industrial & specialist vehicles such as sweepers, Tankers, Grabs, RCV’s, Tippers and forklifts.
About this Role
Every day, communities and businesses rely on essential equipment to keep things running smoothly. As a Field Service Engineer / Mobile Mechanic, you’ll be out in the field, making sure our environmental, municipal, civil, and utilities assets stay in top condition. From urgent breakdowns to scheduled maintenance, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our clients operational.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain DGEMC-owned assets, including specialist utilities equipment (Road Sweepers, Tankers, Grabs, RCV’s, Tippers & Specialist Vehicles/Equipment)
- Respond swiftly to service calls, ensuring downtime is minimised
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
- Maintain accurate electronic work records via PDA
- Carry out PMI inspections and complete reports
- Manage your own time and stock levels efficiently
About You
We’re looking for a hands-on technician with a problem-solving mindset. If you love working independently and thrive in a dynamic, on-the-go role, this is for you!
- Level 2 mechanical or engineering qualification (or equivalent)
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- Strong experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Confident diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and electrical faults
- Competent in the use of diagnostic equipment
- Class 2 HGV licence desirable but not essential
- Great communicator and able to prioritise workload
