Dawson Manufacturing & Engineering is expanding and seeking a talented Design Engineer with SolidWorks experience to join our design team. You will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for bespoke equipment and assemblies used in industrial and food manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop pipework layouts, assemblies, and support structures.
- Work with production and site teams to ensure practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Engage with clients to develop and modify designs to meet their needs.
- Produce accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and support production with technical information.
- Assist with new product development and design improvement projects.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3 years experience in an engineering or manufacturing design role.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (including weldments, pipe routing, sheet metal).
- Knowledge of mild steel and stainless-steel fabrication.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience in the food processing, pharmaceutical, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Understanding of CE marking, machinery directive, or pressure systems.
