Handyman / Maintenance Operative
Dawson Jones Recruitment is recruiting a practical and reliable Handyman / Maintenance Operative to join the Estates team in Winchester.
This is a varied role combining routine testing and compliance checks with general maintenance duties across the estates. You do not need to be a qualified electrician, but you should be practically minded and comfortable carrying out straightforward electrical checks and general maintenance tasks.
The position is initially temporary, but could become permanent.
Duties will include:
Carrying out routine emergency lighting checks and testing
Recording completed tests and checks accurately
Undertaking routine water temperature checks
Carrying out routine water hygiene and Legionella control checks
Carrying out general handyman and maintenance tasks
Identifying and reporting faults or repairs
Supporting the wider Estates and Facilities team with day-to-day maintenance requirements
About you
We're looking for someone with a practical maintenance background rather than a fully qualified operative.
You should have:
Previous practical maintenance experience
Some electrical knowledge or experience and confidence carrying out routine electrical checks
Good general handyman skills
Basic computer literacy, as completed checks will need to be recorded
A full UK driving licence
A reliable, practical and conscientious approach to work
