Dawson Jones Recruitment is supporting our client in the public sector with the appointment of an experienced Fire Safety Manager to lead fire safety strategy, compliance and delivery across their portfolio. This is a key, internal leadership role responsible for overseeing fire safety strategy, compliance and delivery, working closely with internal stakeholders, residents and external partners to ensure safe and compliant environments.

The Role:

  • Reporting into senior leadership, you will be accountable for the delivery and oversight of fire safety across the organisation, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Providing overall leadership of the fire safety and fire door function, with accountability for team performance, capability and delivery.
  • Setting and delivering fire safety strategy, policy and compliance across the organisation.
  • Overseeing fire risk assessments and ensuring actions are prioritised and delivered.
  • Leading on fire door programmes including inspection, maintenance and remediation.
  • Owning fire safety risk management, ensuring robust controls and mitigation are in place.
  • Acting as the organisations subject matter expert on fire safety, advising senior stakeholders.
  • Driving a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across departments.
  • Maintaining clear reporting, governance and communication of fire safety performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation and regulatory standards.

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Strong experience delivering fire safety compliance within the public sector.
  • Experience managing fire risk assessment programmes and fire door compliance.
  • Experience leading a fire safety function or team.
  • Strong understanding of current fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working within multi-stakeholder environments and able to challenge constructively where required.
  • Ability to manage workloads and priorities effectively.
  • Experience producing and presenting reports to stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE or equivalent.
