What the person must be able to do:
This role is in the South African motor manufacturing industry, specifically the manufacture of car batteries. All duties would take place in this context. You must be familiar with the following:
- Continuous improvement and how it works in manufacturing
- Quality metrics and monitoring systems
- TQM processes
- Lean, Continuous Improvement and βright first timeβ
- Reducing defect rates and defect causes
- Improving quality while reducing manufacturing costs
- Driving quality as a culture throughout the business
- Help drive significant improvements in efficiency
- Help implement efficiency improvement plans
- Introduce new ideas on how the business can be more effective
Background work experience:
- 2+ years experience in Lean Manufacturing, TQM and similar philosophies, specifically applied to manufacturing
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or Quality (BSC or Btech)
- Strong interpersonal skills
