We are expanding. Davjunnel Solicitors Ltd is seeking an ambitious Legal Caseworker / Trainee Legal Associate to join our busy and growing legal practice. Based in Hertfordshire with convenient access to London, the firm specialises in immigration, family law, domestic abuse protection, civil litigation and private client matters. This opportunity is particularly suited to LLM students or recent law graduates currently studying in the United Kingdom who are seeking meaningful hands-on legal experience within a busy legal practice.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of legal work, including:
- Preparation and management of immigration and asylum applications
- Assisting with family law proceedings, including Children Act matters
- Supporting work in private client matters
- Assisting with civil litigation matters
- Assisting with the firm’s property management and lettings work, where required
- Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents
- Preparation of court bundles, witness statements and legal submissions
- Assisting with client interviews, file preparation and case management
- Processing Legal Aid applications, amendments, variations and billing via CCMS
- Attendance at court hearings, where appropriate, under supervision
Salary
£26,000 – £32,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This role offers significant hands-on experience, mentorship and professional development within a busy legal practice. Domestic Abuse Protection Work
A significant proportion of the firm’s work involves assisting vulnerable clients who are victims of domestic abuse. The successful candidate will gain practical experience assisting with urgent applications for protective relief, including:
- Non-Molestation Orders
- Occupation Orders and other protective injunctions
- Preparation of urgent ex parte applications
- Assisting with applications supported by legal aid domestic abuse evidence
- Preparing supporting statements and court bundles for emergency hearings
Candidates will gain exposure to urgent protective proceedings and family litigation, including assisting with representation at non-complex hearings and emergency hearings before the Family Court. The firm regularly attends courts across London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the wider South East of England, and where necessary represents clients in courts across other regions of England and Wales. This role therefore offers valuable experience for candidates wishing to develop practical litigation skills and court exposure in domestic abuse and family law proceedings.

Candidate Requirements
Applicants should ideally meet the following criteria:
- LLB degree with minimum 2:1 classification
- Currently studying or recently completed an LLM in the United Kingdom
- Strong written and spoken English
- Excellent legal research and drafting skills
- Demonstrated professionalism, commitment and work ethic
Candidates who speak more than one language will be viewed favourably. Candidates from Nigeria, Ghana and other African jurisdictions currently studying in the UK are particularly encouraged to apply.
