This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, energetic and talented individual to join a truly global team at a growing company. The London HQ Compliance team is responsible for the design, enhancement and day-to-day operations of DaVita International’s compliance program. This program is focused on ensuring the company’s compliance with anti-bribery and corruption laws (and selected other laws) across its 14 markets. The HQ team works closely with a team of approximately 25 compliance professionals based in DaVita’s 14 countries of operations.

Whilst previous experience working in a compliance role (or other related field) would be an advantage, it is not a requirement for this role. It is more important that the candidate have excellent organizational skills, the ability to keep multiple balls in the air, and the maturity and positive attitude required to work under time pressure in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting priority. The right personality and a willingness to learn will be valued as much as prior experience.

This position is based in DaVita International’s HQ in London, United Kingdom (specifically, in Chiswick). The office is situated within Chiswick Business Park - a dynamic and welcoming environment in which to work, offering a range of different food options (including food trucks on a regular basis) and periodic entertainment activities.

The team is very lean, and the position has great exposure to top senior management of the organisation. You will be working in a diverse team of professionals, with different backgrounds, past experiences, competencies and expertise, and will need to be able to build strong relationships across boundaries and cultures. It is an excellent opportunity to learn the “sausage-making” of a compliance program – but, to mix metaphors, it does require a willingness to build the plane while flying it.

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position; however, these are not exhaustive.

  • Manage the DaVita International Compliance Hotline by assigning and following up on reports received from our international locations; own various other aspects of the management of the Compliance Hotline, including coordinating test calls, collecting feedback for the Hotline vendor, etc.
  • Assist with the implementation of compliance projects at DaVita’s International HQ and in countries where DaVita operates, in cooperation with Local Compliance Leads working in each of our countries. Manage outside vendors (including providers of IT platforms and systems) where relevant.
  • Assist with the management of DaVita International’s compliance policies & procedures (P&Ps); maintain our P&P core index and cooperate/follow up with Local Compliance Leads to ensure policy implementation.
  • Coordinate team activities, including regular compliance team calls and the compliance team’s annual meeting, take and circulate minutes of these meetings; assist with the onboarding process for new compliance teammates.
  • Manage compliance communications calendar, prepare/update monthly communications, support and follow up with Local Compliance Leads to ensure implementation of the communications plan.
  • Manage the annual Conflict of Interest process for teammates in the UK HQ.
  • Develop and maintain our repository of compliance documents on DaVita’s intranet.
  • Assist with management of the computer-based annual training program and monitor completion of the training by International HQ employees.
  • Coordinate/conduct simple audits in cooperation with other team members, as needed.
  • Assist with improvements to DaVita’s compliance systems and platforms.
  • Assist the Senior Compliance Director and the Chief Compliance Officer with special projects, as required.
  • Such other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Compliance Director or Chief Compliance Officer.

The following are the qualifications and certifications associated for this job position. Some are required and others are preferred.

  • University degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-university experience in a business setting.
  • No specific sector required but a background in project management or consulting would be an advantage. Candidates with previous experience as a Paralegal would also be considered, as well as candidates with significant experience in Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant roles and an interest in exploring more substantive work.
  • Experience in compliance and regulations, including anti-corruption an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment would be an advantage because the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working with global team, including potentially off-hours meetings or work to accommodate time zone differences.
  • Proficiency in the language of a country where DaVita is present considered an advantage (in particular Mandarin, Portuguese or Arabic).

When you join the Village, you can expect:

  • A competitive market rate salary
  • 9% Employer pension contributions
  • Private Medical Insurance & Dental Cover
  • 25 days holiday (33 including bank holidays)
  • A comprehensive benefit package including Life Assurance, Income Protection & Employee Assistance Program
  • Performance-based rewards based on stellar individual and team contributions
  • A "community first, company second" culture based on Core Values that really matter
  • An exciting, collaborative and driven multinational environment
  • Dedication, above all, to caring for patients suffering from chronic kidney disease
