We are currently seeking a talented and driven Risk Officer to join our Head Office team in Colliers Wood (SW19 2JD). In this role, you will proactively monitor adherence to the Risk Appetite and identify whether any changes externally or internally grant a change to the Risk Appetite.

You will advise the General Manager and executive leadership on Risk policies, identification of risks, risk assessment and calibration, and decision-making within an internationally established risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the assigned Risk Appetite statement and tolerance levels for the country to support delivery of the in-country strategy and as a basis for the DaVita International governance framework.
  • Continuously support any of the changes in the comprehensive Risk Governance Framework.
  • Support the establishment and ongoing maintenance of Functional Governance frameworks across Clinical, Finance (including SOX), IT, Legal, Operations, Compliance and People Services and how they apply and align with Country governance - where necessary acting as a liaison between the Country General Manager and the International Head of Risk who oversees all aspects of the International (including Functional) governance framework.
  • Support 2nd Line assurance of clinical, operational, legal, compliance, finance and IT risks, integrating them into a unified framework as defined by International Headquarters.
  • On behalf of the General Manager, maintain the approval and delegation of authority process for all policies and procedures produced in alignment with the International Policies.
  • Manage the Country Risk Committee (which the Country General Manager will Chair), overseeing country governance for Risk, Compliance, Clinical, Operations, Legal, IT, Finance, People Services and SOX, near miss and incident reporting, policy and procedure reporting and approval and governance of the Country Risk Register.
  • Contribute to the global deployment of International Risk function by demonstrating best practices and participating in risk functional workshops.
  • Report and escalate on risks and controls to International as per the established regular reporting cadence and involve local leadership as necessary.
  • Champion a local cultural shift towards proactive risk management, influencing day-to-day operations and decision-making.
  • Be the “face” and driving force behind a cultural shift in country on behalf of Davita International, and one that recognizes the value of Risk insight to day to day operations and business performance.
  • Apply energy and vigour to global cultural transformation.
  • The role holder will work extensively with local Functional Leaders to maintain risk frameworks and build capabilities in-country. This task will require travel and extensive engagement, training and support within local operations.
  • Conduct training to in-country leadership to ensure all aspects of the Risk framework are well understood and embedded within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Risk in supporting Enterprise Risk Services (Internal Audit) deliver their activities to ensure appropriate and timely Management Action Plan development and delivery, process engagement (including challenge and review of findings) and support the General Manager with the determination of actions and policy amendments.
  • Support the General Manager on all matters relating to governance reporting and key paper submission to International Headquarters.
  • Support the General Manager for all matters relating to the adherence and conduct of International Risk Framework.
  • Engage in local Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence, providing risk assessments for potential expansions across the full process, and ensure Risk Appetite is protected.
  • Contribute to Strategy papers to align Risk and Risk Appetite adherence with business strategy and planning. The role holder will provide direction and process and help to ensure a “symbiotic” relationship between Risk and Strategy so that both are considered in equal measure when determining investment and commercial decisions.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • Prior experience in Corporate Governance and/or Risk Management within a reputable firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Psychology or Social science or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Qualification or academic education in Risk Management an advantage.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior management and diverse teams across different regions.
  • High proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to align risk management with organisational strategy and business goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building teams and fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
