Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit.

Shift: Flexi (flexible time schedule commitment)

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN adheres to professional standards encompassing ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, and evidence-based practice, possessing the clinical knowledge necessary for the specific clinical area.

Who we serve

We care for patients undergoing:

  • Back and Neck surgeries
  • Epilepsy
  • Neurosurgeries (brain, pituitary, etc.)
  • Stroke (surgical and non-surgical)

What you will achieve

  • Work alongside top neurosurgeons and neurologists
  • Develop neuro skills to prepare for neuro ICU
  • Train in the epilepsy monitoring unit

Education:

  • Associate\’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)

Certification/Licensure:

  • Virginia RN License or Multi-State Compact eligibility
  • All RN\’s must have BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire

Experience:

  • None required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • New graduates welcome
