Summary
The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability, or the aging process. The goal is to achieve optimal functioning, prevent disability, and maintain health.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduate of an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapist program required.
- License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require a current valid Driver\’s License with a vehicle available for work, covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
- Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system, or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred. Acute care experience required; Trauma One experience preferred.
