Applications must be submitted no later than Wednesday July 30, 2025 Special Education Assistant (ASC Unit) // Orchard Elementary 5.9 hours per day / 174 days per year / Salary Grade 7 – $20.58 per hour (Support Salary Table 2025-2026) [Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase] (Position may require lifting, feeding programs, simple sign/signal communication, medical procedures to include but not limited to gastrostomy tube feeding, catheterization and diapering of adult size students.) GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the special education teacher, the special education teacher assistant supports the implementation of student IEP\’s (Individualized Education Programs) by assisting the teacher in five areas of service; instructional support, management and supervision support, personal support, assessment support and material management. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience. 2. District in-service training (required after hiring.) 3. Basic knowledge of academic subjects. 4. Substitution or equivalent experience preferred. 5. The specific skills required of the assistant depend upon the assignment, the student\’s needs and IEP, and upon the established procedures of the supervising professional. The following is required for TITLE ONE SCHOOLS: 6. The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate\’s degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test will be required in the future. **Davis School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer**
