Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.

Location: Burton Elementary

Applications must be submitted no later than Wednesday, May 20, 2026. 4.3 hours per day/174 days per year /Salary Grade 3 $17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table) (Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase for a promotion). NOTE: THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR. THIS IS A STRUCTURED RECESS TEACHER ASSISTANT POSITION. WILL PLAN AND WORK WITH STUDENTS DURING RECESS ALONG WITH CHECKING IN WITH SPECIFIC STUDENTS.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full‑time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para‑Professional Test.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer may be required.
