The company
Davis Mills has been instructed to source a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor by our client, a successful London property developer who has £3 Billion worth of assets across a varied portfolio, which includes residential, commercial, hotels and is considered one of the largest property owners in the West End of London. They currently have 4000 flats and 3 hotels in the development pipeline. Our client's business model is extremely well managed, with a reputation for producing very high quality developments. They are keen to recruit an experienced and talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to be initially head office based in the West End of London.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor's role
The Successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have full commercial responsibility for a number of projects and will be responsible for commercially managing three specific areas:
- Procurement - carrying out one and two stage tenders to all sub contract packages, sourcing suitable contractors and putting together tender packages, analysis of tender returns for compliance and price, placing of all sub contract packages.
- Management of Sub contracts - including monthly valuations and certifications, instruction and pricing of any variations, agreement of final accounts.
- Contract Commercial Management - preparing monthly valuations and agreeing with client, pricing of all variations or instructions, agreement of final account with clients, completion and monitoring of the Project CVRs.
Background of the Senior Quantity Surveyor
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have a background and be extremely competent at bringing in a project to commercial budgets. Other prerequisites are:
- Main contracting or developer background, ideally with refurbishment & fit out experience.
- Stable career history.
- Formal construction related qualification.
- Strong communication skills.
- Commercially and technically competent.
