Our client is part of a large construction group who provides a strong vehicle for the reliable delivery of high-quality projects.
The company within its self is a substantial player within the construction sector specialising in sustainable residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes.
They are currently keen to recruit a talent Project Quantity Surveyor to be head office based on a mixed use residential scheme.
The Project Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the day to day cost control and reporting of a number of subcontract work packages including completion of sub-contract final accounts, discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material.
Other duties expected from the Project Quantity Surveyor will include
- Effective commercial control of all allocated subcontract packages including provision of timely and accurate documentation.
- Careful administration of subcontractor accounts
- Project Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for keeping the Managing Surveyor informed of the progress of all subcontractor accounts through to their finalisation, including the release of retentions.
- Ensuring that payments / notices are issued in accordance with the subcontract and Construction Act and in particular, ensure any commercial threats to Projects are identified swiftly and communicated to the Managing Surveyor.
- Attending meetings (pre orders, design meetings, package review meetings) and ensuring that surveying information and cost advice is provided in an accurate and proficient manner.
- Ensuring that the procurement of sub-traders and suppliers is undertaken in a timely and cost effective manner in liaison with the Managing Surveyor.
- Timely production of subcontract final accounts, including re-measurement as necessary to facilitate the optimum result.
- Allocation of works to Assistant / Graduate QS’ where applicable. Monitoring of the work to ensure it is timely and accurate.
- Background of the successful Project Quantity Surveyor
- At least 5 years in a Quantity Surveyor’s role
- Working in a main contractor or developer type environment
- Commercial package management experience
- Contractually aware
- Good knowledge of sub-contract procurement
