Fabulous opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor - Permanent position offering a salary package up to £75,000, but will consider a Freelancer. We are in the process of sourcing an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to be site based on a £multi-million luxury residential fitout in the heart of Mayfair. The Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for ensuring all employees, sub-contractors, clients & members of the public are kept safe at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation, review and approval of Health & Safety Policies, procedures and guidance in keeping with best practice and make recommendations on their implementation and application.
- Complying with current H&S legislation.
- Compiling method statements and reviewing risk assessments.
- Plan & carry out audits and inspections of site & all working areas.
- Issue written reports on the results of site safety inspections or safety audits.
- Audit procedures & systems with subcontractors e.g.; Method statements, risk assessments and COSHH.
- Continually monitor the compliance of sub-contractors.
- Ensure site inductions are carried out appropriately.
- Increase Health & Safety awareness.
- Investigate and issue full reports on any accidents.
- Produce Construction phase Health and Safety Plan.
- Collate periodical information for reports and clients needs.
- Participate in safety meetings with site management, discuss upcoming works and potential hazards, high risk activities.
- Ensure all documentation is collated and stored in line with Company policies.
- Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by management.
- Place & monitor licence applications (scaffold, parking, gantries, etc).
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH, Tech (IOSH) minimum.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Health & Safety standalone role.
- Construction background and knowledge of high end residential industry advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple sites at any one time.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory authorities, contractors and site staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive Health and Safety Advisor.
- Ability to commute into London daily.
