Description
Keoghs LLP is seeking a motivated solicitor to join our in-house advocacy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to become a specialist advocate in a supportive and collaborative environment.
This is an opportunity to start a career in advocacy, working on a broad range of court and paperwork practice in defendant insurance work.
You will join a friendly yet highly experienced team who will provide training and ongoing support.
Long term, there is a clear and structured progression route in place, with the team having a proven track record of promoting from within.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake advocacy, drafting and advisory work; including but not limited to: pleadings, Stage 3 hearings, interlocutory hearings, small claims trials;
- Assisting more senior members of the team in the delivery of the above.
- Assist in delivering advocacy and litigation training / updates for fee earners.
- Undertake client facing, product development tasks as required.
- Assist in the development of the in house advocacy team.
- To provide advocacy, advisory and drafting services to Keoghs LLP.
- Training will be provided by more senior members of the team.
- Based in Liverpool office but may require travel to Manchester and Bolton offices and to Court as required.
- Working from home available on a flexible / business need basis.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications:
- If Barrister – Full practising certificate.
- If Solicitor – Higher Rights of Audience / Ability to demonstrate related experience / Enthusiasm to develop advocacy career.
- In either case NQ – 8 years call or PQE
- Experience in insurance fraud; general PI; EL/PL and/or professional negligence an advantage.
- Strong A-Levels and Degree.
