The NDA File Handler will work within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff, managing a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud files for various insurance clients. The role involves working closely with claims handlers and Lead Lawyers to achieve optimal results in a commercially sound manner. It requires following defined processes, applying forensic and analytical skills to evidence, and making decisions within set timeframes that align with case strategies and client interests.

Key responsibilities include managing cases from litigation to resolution, analyzing evidence, setting case strategies, identifying litigation opportunities, and maintaining client relationships. The caseload covers various suspected fraudulent insurance claims, such as bogus passengers, staged accidents, exaggeration, induced accidents, low-speed impacts, late notifications, credit hire fraud, MIB, and linked crime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fraud cases from litigation initiation to closure.
  • Review and analyze evidence throughout each case.
  • Set and agree on case strategies with clients, following established protocols.
  • Identify litigation opportunities and complex cases.
  • Recognize client trends and opportunities to enhance client engagement.

Client Excellence

  • Handle files according to client guidelines without delegation.
  • Maximize client satisfaction and ensure accurate MI reporting.
  • Meet KPIs for clients and internal standards.

Technical Excellence

  • Report to insurers throughout the case.
  • Liaise with relevant parties to conduct investigations.
  • Meet procedural deadlines and achieve favorable litigation outcomes.
  • Utilize procedural tactics and undertake advocacy as appropriate.
  • Proactively manage investigations and case strategies.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and maintain accurate case management records.
  • Comply with regulatory standards and policies.

  • Work efficiently to ensure profitability.
  • Meet financial targets and ensure timely billing.

Working Hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. The primary location is Bolton, Parklands Office, with a flexible attendance policy requiring at least 1 day per week in the office.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience in civil litigation claims handling or relevant legal qualifications (ILEX, LPC).
  • Experience with linked and organized fraud is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience handling RTA pre-litigated and litigated cases.
  • Understanding of insurance litigation and indemnity principles.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes and CPR.
  • Strong advocacy, client care, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Experience with time recording and billing systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
