Davies Claims North America is growing in the Mid-West. As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for an experienced Executive General Adjuster to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a multi-line adjuster with experience in handling large complex losses. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to coordinate large complex claims through effective communication, timely reporting while also possessing the skills to provide thorough coverage analysis on both first- and third-party claims. The adjuster will handle claims as well as develop client relationships. Travel is expected to assist in daily and catastrophic situations. Experience with Xactimate is required.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter with a high degree of attention to detail, well organized with exceptional time management skills. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently. The candidate will be expected to become familiar and handle claims for various clients in accordance with their guidelines and reporting requirements. Experience as and Appraiser and Umpire is required.
The candidate must have experience with litigated claims and experience working with defense counsel. 10 plus years’ experience as an independent or staff adjuster is required. A valid drivers license is required and be licensed for all jurisdictions in the coverage territory. This is a full-time, home and field-based position. The candidate will handle dwelling, commercial property, casualty and flood claims with various degrees of severity.
The candidate will be responsible for expanding the client base in the geographical area as well as mentoring and training adjusters added to the team with an emphasis on quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate and settle claims of various degrees of severity.
  • Provide appropriate coverage analysis
  • Estimate first and third-party property damage
  • Provide accurate reserves immediately after a loss inspection
  • Complete state required forms
  • Complete written narrative reports outlining the details of the investigation.
  • Interview/obtain recorded statements from insureds, claimants and witnesses
  • Secure and analyze claim documents
  • Review and be familiar with Homeowners, Commercial property and Commercial General Liability coverage and applicable endorsements.
  • Work with defense counsel to assist in litigated matters.
  • Engage with contractors, engineers, building consultants and other industry experts.

Skills, knowledge & expertise

  • 10+ years of experience as an independent or staff adjuster required
  • Xactimate experience preferred
  • Effectively manage a calendar and scheduling of various duties, perform routine diary on a case load of assignments, work independently and demonstrate the ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Capability to use a computer and willingness to learn new software programs and claim handling techniques for various types of claims
  • Possess strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks while meeting deadlines, which may include standard performance timeframes and client specific benchmarks
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and transmit information to clients utilizing proper spelling and grammar to ensure all written communication is presented in a professional manner
  • Proven customer service ability to meet and deal with people effectively, including claim settlement negotiations
  • Willingness to occasionally work unusual hours to include those times when the assignment volume may increase to ensure timely and effective claim handling
  • Express interest to improve one\'s knowledge by meeting educational goals
