The claims handler will be responsible for managing a caseload of pre-litigated and Low Value Litigated Motor Claims for our Corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • To effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of pre-litigated motor claims up to £25k, including high value/complex matters from inception to settlement.
  • To effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of litigated motor claims up to £10k.
  • Identify cases for early litigation with high prospects of success and low risk.
  • To support delivery of consistently high levels of service and productivity.
  • To work closely with colleagues within the firm to deliver consistently high levels of service.
  • To input accurate data and ensure data maintenance.
  • Interact and communicate with clients.
  • Mentoring, training and to be the technical referral point for other team members.

Working Hours

35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5.00pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is Liverpool. This role is a hybrid role working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • ULR RTA handling experience of pre-litigated matters is essential, litigation knowledge would be desirable.
  • Full Claim cycle experience, from initial quantum assessment, liability investigation and settlement negotiation.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support new starters.
  • Desirable: Litigation claims handling.
  • Knowledge of Loss of Use/Loss of Standing Charge desirable.
  • Mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Qualified solicitor / CILEX with necessary practice rights (consideration will also be given to CILEX Lawyers).
