What will your day look like:
- Liaison with insurers, policyholders and brokers
- Investigation of allocated claims in the field or from the desk
- Compilation of all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
- Preparation of preliminary reports detailing the evidence available and commenting upon policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, advising on the recommended reserve and tactics
- Determine appropriate action for resolution of the case
- Investigate all cases in accordance with the clientβs requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times
- Keep updated on any technical changes relevant to your role, including participating in training programmes facilitated by the company
- All staff are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their line manager, in line with business requirements
Knowledge and Abilities
The role would suit either a Casualty Adjuster or investigator who is ambitious and can demonstrate an ability to develop the skills and knowledge needed. This role is home based, covering caseloads in the Northeast England (predominantly North Yorkshire, Teesside and Newcastle). Therefore, travel in this area is necessary.
