As a Litigated Credit Hire Specialist at Keoghs, you will be part of a team dedicated to advocating for clients in high-stakes credit hire cases. This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate Litigated Credit Hire claims. The File Handler's responsibility is to investigate claims submitted from specific opponents, with claims valued up to £25,000. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an incredible team and gain experience in investigating credit hire claims, aiming to successfully challenge the claims.

Key Accountabilities:
The role involves managing a caseload of DA credit hire & injury files under the supervision of the Team Leader. Instructions are received at litigation stage, requiring full knowledge of handling RTA claims through to court resolution. Main responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and analyzing files throughout the case in accordance with client guidelines
- Developing and maintaining client relationships
- Formulating initial strategies for approval
- Conducting legal research
- Negotiating with third-party solicitors
- Liaising with insured parties and insurers
- Carrying out actions as per task lists within the Case Management System
- Completing management information processes accurately
- Processing bills
- Maintaining files within ISO 9001 guidelines
- Ensuring compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations
- Adhering to Keoghs Values
- Working in a target-driven environment
The role also requires understanding of court processes, including:
- Drafting defenses
- Completing direction questionnaires
- Managing disclosure and evidence exchange
- Completing pre-trial checklists
- Instructing Counsel
- Drafting CPR Part 18 and Part 35 questions
- Drafting Counter schedules
Working Hours:
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with 1-hour lunch break.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience in litigation and managing Credit Hire files with evidence of handling own caseload
- At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; degree / LPC preferred
- Initiative, planning, and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to follow processes and demonstrate tact and sensitivity
- Decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure
- Good IT skills, including Word, Outlook, and experience with Case Management Systems
Desirable:
- Experience handling PI claims
