File Handler Litigated Credit Hire Department: Claims Management Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time Location: Birmingham Description As a Litigated Credit Hire Specialist at Keoghs, you\’ll be part of a team dedicated to representing clients in high-stakes credit hire cases. This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate Litigated Credit Hire claims. The File Handler\’s responsibility is to investigate claims submitted by specific opponents, with claim values up to £25,000. This is a fantastic chance to join a great team and gain experience in investigating credit hire claims with the goal of successfully repudiating them. Instructions are received at litigation, requiring full knowledge of handling RTA claims through to court conclusion. Main responsibilities include: Reviewing and analyzing files throughout the case, following client guidelines Developing and maintaining client relationships Formulating initial strategies for approval Conducting legal research Negotiating with third-party solicitors Liaising with insured parties and insurers Completing tasks within the Case Management System Accurately processing bills and management information Ensuring files comply with ISO 9001 standards and SRA regulations Working in a target-driven environment Understanding court procedures, including drafting defenses, completing questionnaires, handling disclosure, instructing counsel, and drafting legal questions Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a 1-hour lunch break.
